In this MERC seminar, we will explore the importance of building quality relationships with students and tracking those relationships over time. Participants will learn more about the "Go Green" initiative that helps school counselors track and enhance their relationships with students using data in Hanover County Public Schools. School counselors and central office leaders from HCPS will share about "Go Green," including stories about how it has impacted their work with students at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Presenters include:

Karla Allen - Coordinator for Counseling Services at Hanover County Public Schools
Sarah Bazemore - Specialized Student Services Coordinator at the Virginia Department of Education
Jared Collier - School Counselor at Patrick Henry High School (HCPS)
Elyse Crockett - School Counselor at Ashland Elementary School (HCPS)
Alyssa Farling - School Counseling Director at Chickahominy Middle School (HCPS)
Mary-Catherine Kain - MERC Undergraduate Research Assistant
David Naff - Director, Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium (MERC) at Virginia Commonwealth University

Participants will receive resources and templates to help them track relationships in their caseload and will have an opportunity to share about their own strategies and resources for using data to enhance their work with students. 

This MERC seminar is free, but an RSVP is required. You will receive a calendar invitation and Zoom link ahead of the seminar after registering. All participants will receive a certificate for 1.5 hours to be used towards professional learning credit.
